It\u2019s Tuesday night.\u00a0 It feels like Friday.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know why.\u00a0 Maybe that\u2019s why I\u2019m cooking a curry tonight.\u00a0 I have been quite excited to cook this one.\u00a0 The photo in the book makes it look exiting a golden and colourful. The ingredients make it feel like it should be both hot and sweet. That kind of meal feels like a Friday night dinner, I would say.\u00a0 So I cook it on a Tuesday.\u00a0 A Tuesday that, for some reason, feels like a Friday.\u00a0 The cooking of this is actually very easy.\u00a0 I feel calm.\u00a0 Gavin, who is taking photos, tells me I\u2019m much more relaxed than normal. We hold much more coherent conversations (more coherent on my part) than is normally achieved while I cook a 15 Minute Meal.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It is actually easy to cook. The only things I have to report is that when I cut into the tomatoes* my jumper was splashed with tomato juice.\u00a0 I\u2019m not dong well with tomato juice slashes at the moment! Also when opening the tin of coconut milk, my jumper is splashed with that too!<\/span><\/p>\n

*by the way the list of ingredients asked for 2 ripe tomatoes.\u00a0 For some reason I hadn\u2019t registered this when I wrote my shopping list.\u00a0 So when I got home and unpacked my shopping and gathered all the ingredients I didn\u2019t have the two ripe tomatoes.\u00a0 Luckily(??) I had several over (very over) ripe cherry tomatoes in the fridge.\u00a0 These had to substitute for the two ripe tomatoes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This dish looked pretty.\u00a0 It smelt good.\u00a0 It looked less golden yellow than the picture in the book.\u00a0 If\u2019 I\u2019m honest I was a bit disappointed in the taste.\u00a0 At first.\u00a0 It tasted a bit mild.\u00a0 Not hot.\u00a0 Not hot at all.\u00a0 But it did taste \u2026 interesting .. flavoursome … By the end of eating this I was convinced.\u00a0 It was a delicate tasty dish.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was good dish. A good Friday night dish.\u00a0 A good Tuesday, which for some reason feels like a Friday, night dish.\u00a0 A dish eaten whilst watching Django. A film I had to watch because it\u2019s up for an Oscar and I\u2019m going to an Oscar party and so I must watch all the films nominated for major Oscar awards.\u00a0 I have mixed feelings about Tarantino Films. I think this is large part due to watching Pulp Fiction when I was too young, about 12 I think\u2026 the gimp scared me \u2026 not that I knew what one was \u2026 I wish I still didn\u2019t.\u00a0 But I will say it\u2019s a good film.\u00a0 A very good film.\u00a0 Well worth a watch. There is enough gratuitous violence for it to be Tarantino. But it sensitive (somehow) too.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
