… Sweet Tomato & Asparagus Lasagenetti<\/span><\/h4>\n

Ok so its Oscars morning \u2013 by which I mean the morning afterwards.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The morning was spent sleeping and then going for coffee in Gloucester.\u00a0 My sister Selina works in Boots on a makeup counter in Gloucester.\u00a0 We visit her.\u00a0 As punishment for going to bed first last night.\u00a0 As punishment for not watching any of the films up for awards.\u00a0 And as punishment for winning the sweepstake, whist she is dealing with a real customer I rearrange her makeup counter.\u00a0 After this it\u2019s time to visit the cathedral where parts of Harry Potter was filmed and where Edward II is buried.\u00a0 I visited him because I had just read a book set vaguely around him.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t know him he is the effeminate son of the ruthless king in the film Braveheart which rumour has it he was killed by having a hot poker shoved up his \u2026. A rumour that is almost certainly not true.\u00a0 Needless to say when I visited him he was unable to confirm whether this romour was actually untrue.\u00a0 After a quick visit to the site of the death, by burning, of several protestant martyrs it\u2019s time to go back and cook this one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before I started this one I had to trim the fat of my lamb chops.\u00a0 The recipe calls for eight lamb chops with the fat trimmed off them. When you buy lamb by the half (as in half a whole lamb) you can\u2019t be that picky.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The cooking process for this was really quite easy.\u00a0 The only fiddly bit was the pasta.\u00a0 When you buy fresh lasagna sheets they come individually separated by sheets of paper.\u00a0 It is infuriatingly\u00a0fiddly to separate these.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If I\u2019m honest I was a little disappointed by this one.\u00a0 I must confess here that while I love lamb and its one of my favorite meats (I didn\u2019t think you can beat a slow cooked shoulder of lamb) I don\u2019t really like chops.\u00a0 I don\u2019t enjoy cooking them and I can\u2019t really be bothered to eat them.\u00a0 That notwithstanding the lamb was really very nice.\u00a0 It was very nice lamb.\u00a0 But the way it is cooked is very nice too. I was disappointed with the pasta.\u00a0 It was fine.\u00a0 It was nice.\u00a0 But it was far from my favourite.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By the way this is another meal with asparagus.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think I have ever eaten so much asparagus in my life.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t a compliant I really like asparagus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
