… Tapenade Toasties & Cucumber Salad\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

So as of yesterday it had been a month since my last Fifteen Minute Meal, and after today it will be a month before the next one.\u00a0 I\u2019m about to go of on my Canadian adventure (with a small detour to Seattle) and I won\u2019t be back until June.\u00a0 No doubt there will be lots of eating but no cooking at all.\u00a0 I\u2019ll make up for that when I\u2019m back, I promise.\u00a0 The lack of cooking that is, not the eating.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0I like mussels.\u00a0 I really, really like mussels.\u00a0 I mean I really, really, really like mussels. There was a time in my life where I eat very, very, very good mussels relatively regularly in Belgium.\u00a0 I miss that.\u00a0 And so this is yet another one where I\u2019ve been waiting to cook it for some time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There was an early issue when it became apparent that my roasting tray was not really big enough for all the mussels, but they fitted, just.\u00a0 Although I don\u2019t think they cooked as fast as they should have.\u00a0 I blame the roasting tin for making me fifty-four seconds late.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This really is a very nice dish.\u00a0 It\u2019s easy too.\u00a0 The ciabatta and salad are very quick to do.\u00a0 The sauce that the mussels are cooked in is lovely. I was hanging around, waiting for the mussels to cook for quite some time.\u00a0 It was a good meal to finish of a nice day with a great morning at church and a great afternoon walk in Exmoor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The kick of harissa in the sauce was perfect \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026 by the way, that reminds me that when I bought this particular jar of harrissa there was an incident.\u00a0 A significant one.\u00a0 I went shopping, for a few things, but opted for the no basket option.\u00a0 A few things turned into a really quite a few things.\u00a0 A few too many to carry, even with tuck some stuff under the arm method.\u00a0 I dropped something.\u00a0 It was the harrissa.\u00a0 Of course it was.\u00a0 Some of it went on my shoes.\u00a0 My new shoes.\u00a0 Most of it went on the floor of Tesco.\u00a0 I found out the next day that the person who had to clear my mess up was my friend, Chris, from church \u2026 sorry Chris. I did feel a bit bad \u2013 would cooking for you make up for it?<\/span><\/p>\n

By the way my cat has gone missing.\u00a0 It\u2019s been over a week since he\u2019s been home.\u00a0 He does occasionally go of for three, four, maybe five days \u2026 but not eight. I\u2019m sad.\u00a0 If you happen to see a black, half Siamese, cat with a kink in his tail could you ask him to come home?<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway that\u2019s it, for a bit.\u00a0 I\u2019ll see you in June.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
