\u2026 Grilled Polenta & Porcini Tomato Sauce<\/span><\/h4>\n

Tonight I\u2019m cooking for my friends Andrew and Carol, at their house, after I babysit for them so they can go to parents evening. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been quite a while since I\u2019ve done a 15 minute meal in someone else\u2019s kitchen. I have never cooked with ready-made polenta before, so this will be interesting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You whizz up tomatoes and a bunch of other ingredients first to make the tomato sauce.\u00a0 This requires a liquidizer.\u00a0 I have still not bought one.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been managing with my food processor.\u00a0 Today I didn\u2019t really manage.\u00a0 This was quite a liquidy sauce and the food processor was full.\u00a0 There was significant spillage while I was whizzing up the ingredients \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

There seemed to be quite a lot of polenta and I couldn\u2019t quite fit it all in my griddle pan, so there were two left over slices.\u00a0 The polenta was a bit hard to cook.\u00a0 A few pieces broke up and I didn\u2019t really get the nice burn lines on the polenta that are in the picture in the book.\u00a0 I think the griddles on my griddle pan are a bit wide and rounded.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Basically I\u2019m beaten by the chicken again.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s that I\u2019m not flattening it enough when I beat it with the rolling pin.\u00a0 But it wasn\u2019t cooked through in time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The meal took a bit longer than it should have.\u00a0 It certainty didn\u2019t look as tidy as Jamie\u2019s, but it did taste good.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway it looks like I\u2019ll be buying myself a liquidizer and a new griddle pan in the near future.<\/span><\/p>\n
