\u2026 Sun-Blush Mash & Greens<\/span><\/h4>\n

So I cooked this meal because it looked comforting.\u00a0 Scallops are delicate.\u00a0 But mash is comforting.\u00a0 It seemed like a day for some comfort food.\u00a0 Tonight is film night \u2013 The Good German \u2013 and this was the meal to accompany the film.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It felt like it took a bit of time to get the potatoes sliced in the boiling water.\u00a0 But once this was done it all went pretty smoothly.\u00a0 The second job is to do the greens cook them for 3 minutes then drain them put them on the serving platter and dress them.\u00a0 I was worried they\u2019d get cold.\u00a0 So I drained them and then popped them back in the pan, with the lid on to keep them warm.<\/span><\/p>\n

The scallops were easy to prepare and cook. It didn\u2019t take too long to cut the criss cross pattern in them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My only problem came with mashing (or rather blitzing) the potatoes.\u00a0 They just didn\u2019t blitz properly.\u00a0 It seemed like my food processor is too small, although it is about average size.\u00a0 In the end I tipped them back in the pan and used a potato masher.\u00a0 It meant that the potato was a bit rougher than it should have been.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was done in time \u2026 just.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It tasted great.\u00a0 Really great.\u00a0 Comforting too. It was a nice dinner.\u00a0 And it went well with the food.\u00a0 The slightly rough potato wasn\u2019t fine too.<\/span><\/p>\n

The musical accompaniment to cooking tonight was a bit of an oldish Gaslight Anthem record I bought today and Mogwai\u2019s new record \u201cLes Revenants\u201d which is the sound track to a very good, if a little odd, French TV show.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Basically this meal looked a bit odd.\u00a0 Mash with Scallops, but it was great.\u00a0 You should try it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After today it means I\u2019ve done six 15 Minute Meals in six days.\u00a0 There won\u2019t be one tomorrow but I have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sorted.\u00a0 I\u2019m back on a roll.<\/span><\/p>\n
