…\u00a0Mixed Tomato & Quinoa Salad<\/span><\/h5>\n

So its starts. \u00a0I fanny around, cleaning the kitchen, making sure things are\u00a0organised and … well just fannying around. \u00a0I feel nervous. \u00a0I don’t get\u00a0nervous when I cook. \u00a0The last time I can remember being nervous about\u00a0cooking was when I last cooked for a girl I liked (as in like liked). That\u00a0was a long time ago. I’m nervous tonight.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This meal uses Quinoa. \u00a0I have never cooked Quinoa. \u00a0It was one of the\u00a0ingredients I had to look up when I was making my shopping list of pantry\u00a0items. \u00a0I still don’t know how to pronounce it. \u00a0This is going to be quite a\u00a0cheap meal. \u00a0I only have to buy Mackerel, tomatoes and yogurt. \u00a0And I will\u00a0be using much more of the yogurt in another meal (so that meal can bare the\u00a0cost). \u00a0Everything else I have. \u00a0They were either in my pantry ingredients,\u00a0or I just happened to have them (like the lemon, chilli and basil and in the\u00a0case of the rosemary the large bush at the bottom of the garden provides for\u00a0me).<\/span><\/p>\n

It goes well. \u00a0The Quinoa is easy to cook. \u00a0So is the mackerel and it smells\u00a0great too. The only bit that’s time consuming is chopping all those\u00a0tomatoes. \u00a0I could see that if you don’t have very good knife skills this\u00a0could really slow you down. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In all I’m done in 15 minutes and ten seconds. \u00a0I could have shaved two\u00a0seconds off that if my tongs had been put away in the right place!!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a great meal. \u00a0The salad was great and I’ll be cooking Quinoa again.\u00a0The horseradish sauce just hot enough. And the mackerel was lovely. \u00a0I love\u00a0mackerel. I love fish. \u00a0For some reason I don’t cook or eat that much of it\u00a0so I really enjoyed this meal. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lessons learnt: don’t put the book and ingredients on the other side of the\u00a0kitchen. \u00a0Buy a better pepper mill.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In all the whole thing takes about an hour. \u00a0Fifteen minutes to cook, about\u00a0thirty minutes to eat and about fifteen minutes to do the dishes. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
